அன்றைய மதராஸ் மேன்மையா?

இன்றைய சென்னை செழுமையா?

பட்டிமன்றமா? இல்லை!!இல்லை

பகருவோம் உண்மையை

மந்தைகள் மேயும் புல்வெளி மந்தைவெளி-இன்று

சந்தைகள் நிறைந்த சந்துகளானதே!!

மயில்கள் ஆடி அழககூட்டிய மயிலாப்பூரிலோ-இன்று

மனிதத்  தலை தவிர வேறில்லையே!!

பூந்தோட்டமாய் பூத்துக்குலுங்கிய நந்தனம்-இன்று

பூவுலகம் வியக்கும் நாகரீக முன்னேற்றம் கண்டதே!!

ஆதி அந்தமுமாகிய சிவனின் திரிசூலம்

ஆதி அந்ததையும் இணைக்கும் விமான நிலையமானதே!!

அல்லிமலர் குளங்களால் நிறையப் பெற்ற திருஅல்லிக்கேணி

அடுக்குமாடி குடியிருப்புகளால் நிறைந்து போனதே!!

வண்டல்மண் படுகையான வண்டலூர் இன்று

விலங்குகளின் சரணாலயமானதே!!

வில்வமரங்களால் சூழப்பட்ட வில்லிவாக்கம் இன்று

வீட்டுமனை விரிவாக்க திட்டத்தால் விரிந்து பரந்து போனதே!!

இன்னும் சொல்லாம் இப்படியான மாற்றங்களை,

மாற்றங்களே மாறும்!இதுதான் நியதி!!

நீரோட்டத்தின் பாதையிலே பயணிப்போம்.

மாற்றங்களை மனகட்டுப்பாட்டுடன் ஏற்போம்.

மனமொத்த கருத்துடன் வாழ்வோம்.
