ROMANTIC IDEAS-1

Here is the top 10 list of  romantic ideas:

IDEA # 1
If your partner is going away for a few days, tell her that you are worried about her so you have organized a bodyguard to look after her. Then give her a small teddy bear.

IDEA # 2
Buy a packet of glow in the dark stars and stick the stars on the roof above your bed to spell out a message such as "I Love You" When the lights go down, your message will be revealed!

IDEA # 3
On a special occasion, buy your partner eleven real red roses and one artificial red rose. Place the artificial rose in the center of the bouquet.

Attach a card that says:
“I will love you until the last rose fades.”

IDEA # 4
Buy the domain name of your partner's name if it is available for example www.urpartnersname.com. Create a web page containing a romantic poem and a picture of a rose. When your partner is surfing the web, casually ask whether she has ever checked to see whether her domain name is taken. Let her type it in to discover her page.

IDEA # 5
Buy a stylish hand mirror and give it to your partner as a gift. Include a card in the box saying
“In this mirror you will see the image of
the most beautiful woman in the world.”

IDEA # 6
Take a book that your partner is reading and using a pencil, underline letters in a section of the book she has yet to read to spell out a love letter. For example in the following exert from a novel, the underlined letters come together to spell out the secret message "I love you"

The palace was a labyrinth, their passage through it tortuous and interminable. Initially they passed from building to building under the sodden sky. Steve's feet ached; he might have laughed at himself, the tireless traveler, grown too soft from his months in the city to walk any proper distance. Abruptly the guards halted.

The underlined letters will make your partner curious and with a bit of luck she will write them down. Spend time to encode a proper message such as "Dear Belinda, I love you honey"

IDEA # 7
Have flowers delivered to your partner's workplace. She will not only enjoy the flowers but will also receive comments and attention from her office mates which will add to her enjoyment.

IDEA # 8
While walking with your partner on a weekend getaway, pick up a smooth stone and say that you're going to keep it as a special memento of your trip. Later, have a message engraved into the stone by a jeweler and give it to your partner.

IDEA # 9
Drive into the country, find a grassy hill and lie with your partner and look up at the clouds.
Play the kid’s game of looking for shapes in the cloud formations.

IDEA # 10
Memorize one of Shakespeare's love sonnets and recite it to your partner when you are in a romantic setting like a botanical garden. Don't just suddenly start reciting poetry as this will just sound corny.
While you are cuddling your partner, ask in a joking manner,

"So is now a good time to recite a love poem to you?" She will probably say yes, expecting you to come up with something of the "Roses are Red..." variety.

Instead, look into her eyes, smile and recite the sonnet while you gently stroke her face. Try the sonnet below. If this is too long, just memorize the first four lines and the last two.

Shakespeare Love Sonnet 18

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed,
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature's changing course untrimmed.
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest,
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st.
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

The Story Of Madras-1

The Madras of today is 370 years old.But parts of this city are as old as the history of the Tamils. How much do we know about this great city?? well here are the places and people that would kindle the interest

In the centuries preceding the christian era,Tiruvalluvar lived here and wrote tirukural,an anthology of wisdom, during the sangam period.

The oldest part of Madras is probably Mylapore. It is named after goddess Parvathy, known as karpakaambal who took the form of a peahen and performed penance to marry lord siva in the form of kapaleeswara. This is one of the oldest temples in the city. According to the stala purana of the temple, It is located on the spot where lord brahma installed a shiva lingam.
Mylapore was the home of peyalwar. In the 7th century A.D Tirugnana Sambandar visited Mylapore and described it thus:
"where honey-trees grew in beautiful gardens in the sea-shore,where devi appeared in the form of a pea-hen and kapaleeshwara took her in marriage".
Mylapore was a seaport and commercial center under the pallavas. The pallava king Nandivarman-III was known as Mylai-kavalan,the protector of Mylapore.

The original Temple which was near the sea,was washed away and the present temple rebuilt much later by the vijayanagara kings. The gopuram(entrance) is 120 feet tall.Inside the temple is the punnai tree, beneath which the legend of Mylapore grew. The temple is of the typical Dravidian style.

Yet another old part is Triplicane or Tiruvallikeni, the sacred lily tank. The temple of Parthasarathy through a recent building, originally existed in the 8th century, which was built by the pallavas expanded by the cholas and later by the vijayanagara kings. This temple is one of its kind in the country where lord krishna is known as Parthasarathy (charioteer) to Arjuna during the Kurukshetra war (Mahabharatha). We can see the lord with a moustache and the idol has several scars indicating the war.

Tirumangaialvar sang of Tiruvallikeni:
"The fragrance of the kuravan flowers in cool shady gardens where cuckoos sing and peacocks dance.....The sun's rays never penetrate the thick foliage of tiruvallikeni"
Neither Mylapore nor triplicane houses anymore trees or peacocks :(
.As the city grew, the first casualty was its natural surroundings.

GAMES YOU OUGHT TO KNOW

Here comes the summer, the blazing heat and the extreme temperature. We generally try engaging ourselves indoors by watching TV or playing some indoor games. Taking about the indoor games, i just realized that there are so many traditional games that we have lost or people of this generation haven't even heard of. Here is come game that comes in this category.

CHIRMI :

This is a simple game from Rajasthan and very enjoyable, especially for children. It is a fun way to spend time on the beach.

You need:   originally, the game is played with chirtni or gundumani-red beads with a black spot. However, you can play with tamarind seeds, beads or anything small.

how to play:  Each player gets a handful of seeds(of equal numbers). These are buried in a heap of sand.Based on the number of players, the heap is then divided into number of parts. The players then find the number of seeds buried in the sand allotted to them. Now,the player with the least number of seeds puts his or hers in the heap, while all the others contribute an equal number. The game continues till all the seeds are exhausted..:) :)

A table tennis club was planned, and Gandhi and his wife were to inaugurate it.Ba and Bapu stood at either end of the table, racquet's in hand.Ba served first, and the ball bounced promptly on to Bapu's bald head!

Talk to your grandmother or grandfather.Do they remember other funny anecdotes from Gandhi's life?

Tension Intension Extension Attention

Tension Intention Extension Attention

When there is tension, first make intention - "The Sankalp" to solve the tension. Then there is no use in keeping it inside. Express it outside through Extension.

Extension is Ex-Tension. Share he situation and cause of the tension with colleagues and with concerned people. Share it with seniors, deputies, colleagues or with family members. Then you may get more ideas to reduce or eliminate your tension.

Then give attention. Attending is A-Tension. Attend to the actual root cause of the tension. When there is attention, there is no tension.
Actually, now Attention is the root cause of Tension.
